Dhwani Bhatt

Dhwani Bhatt is a third-year honours Chemical Engineering (BS) student at Northeastern University, passionate about sustainability, waste management, and process optimisation. A 2024 Climate Justice Fellow and recipient of the Karren T. Rigg Leadership Scholarship and the 2023 CEM Srinivasan Family Award, Dhwani bridges innovation and environmental impact through community-driven projects.

She conducted a Biochemical Methane Potential (BMP) study in Fort Portal, Uganda, guiding the design of a biogas system to replace unsustainable energy sources at a rural school. At Sitration, she interned in wastewater remediation, improving energy efficiency in critical metal electroextraction by 70%.

As Program Director and now President of Engineers Without Borders Northeastern, Dhwani led projects providing clean water to 4,000+ Ugandans and now oversees initiatives in Guatemala, Panama, and Uganda. She also won 1st place at the 2024 CEM CASE Consulting Competition for an energy proposal in East Africa, showcasing her strength in business modeling and sustainable development.
