Jason is a Financial Economics (BSc) graduate from Strathmore University, recognised for being in the top 10% of his class and earning three Dean’s List honours. He holds a Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification from the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI), adding a specialised edge to his academic achievements.

Professionally, Jason has amassed finance experience across East Africa spanning investment banking, private equity, and fintech. He spent two years as an investment consultant at Ortus Africa Capital, a boutique firm in Uganda, where he refined his financial modelling skills, contributing to government investments in private companies, capital raises, and structuring debt investments for SMEs. During his internship with Ascent Capital, a $200m East African private equity firm, Jason analysed multiple deals, gaining substantial exposure to deal origination and analysis. He also worked with Fingo, a Kenyan neobank and Y-Combinator alumni, contributing to company strategy, product development, and partnerships. He later served as a Strategy Analyst at Pesapal. He is now the Founder and CEO of SB App, a fintech platform committed to reimagining banking in Africa and fostering innovation across the continent’s financial ecosystem.
