Jonah Jjemba is an Economics and Finance undergraduate (BSc) at University College Dublin, where he combines rigorous academic training with leadership in student finance initiatives. He has excelled in econometrics, probability, and macroeconomics. He is preparing to pursue the CFA qualification next year, reflecting his commitment to investment research and the development of capital markets.
Professionally, Jonah has gained diverse exposure across financial institutions. At Scotiabank Global Banking & Markets, he worked as a Global Wholesale Operations Intern, gaining exposure to front, middle, and back-office functions and developing a holistic perspective on how operational infrastructure underpins capital markets. At PwC Ireland, he contributed to the Data Analytics and Risk Assurance team, applying SQL, Alteryx, and Python to improve audit processes and strengthen compliance systems under the DORA framework.
Jonah currently serves as Director of the Quantitative Finance Division at the Irish Student Managed Fund, where he leads a team of analysts in developing research-driven strategies and advancing quantitative approaches to portfolio management. He also co-founded J&J Website Solutions, supporting SMEs in Uganda in building their digital presence and expanding market reach. His long-term focus lies in expanding financial education and democratising access to capital markets across East Africa.
