Dasha Mulira

Associate, Healthcare & Education Desk

Dasha Mulira is a global health professional with an academic foundation in public and global health. She is a Public Health graduate from the University of Waterloo (BPH) and is pursuing Global Health Systems at Western University (MHSc). Her academic interests include health equity, health systems strengthening, and infectious disease prevention, with a focus in Sub-Saharan Africa. Through her education, she has developed skills in qualitative research, program evaluation, and community engagement.

Dasha’s professional experience spans research, health promotion, and frontline service delivery. As a Global Health Intern at the Joint Clinical Research Centre in Uganda, she supported HIV screening, PrEP distribution, and community sensitisation for high-risk individuals. She has contributed to systematic reviews and qualitative data synthesis as a Research Assistant and engaged in public health knowledge translation in a communications role at the University of Waterloo’s School of Public Health Sciences.

Beyond academics and work, she is passionate about advocacy, leadership, and community mobilisation. She has volunteered with racial advocacy and equity-based organisations, coordinated university orientation events, and led various extracurricular initiatives. Growing up in Uganda and Kenya deepens her understanding of East African health systems and informs her pursuit of equitable global health solutions.
