Elvis Kinyua

Elvis Kinyua is a passionate software developer with a keen interest in social impact projects. A software engineering graduate (BSc) from the African Leadership University, Elvis’ mission is to leverage emerging technologies to solve global challenges in Africa.
While at university, Elvis demonstrated exceptional leadership through roles that include Chess Club president, promoting disability inclusion as a certified trainer, and serving on of the Integrity Board. Additionally, he participated in a summer exchange at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland, engaging in a Swiss-Africa Business Case Challenge that explored green hydrogen production as a sustainable fuel source for Africa.
For his final-year project, Elvis developed Wildpedia, a platform to advance biodiversity education in East Africa. Currently in beta, it leverages Google Vision API for accurate species identification and employs Agentic AI with an LLM-based quiz system that uses Langchain to deliver tailored educational content. Additionally, Elvis co-founded MultiScanAI, an innovative smartphone-based diagnostic tool that transforms standard microscopes into AI-powered solutions, empowering rural African healthcare workers to diagnose diseases efficiently without specialised training.
Beyond his academic and professional endeavors, Elvis’ commitment to community building is evidenced in Psych-64, a social enterprise he founded that uses chess to help African youth build resilience.
